How to choose the best exercise bike to lose weight

Best Exercise Bike For Weight Loss Reviews 2020

1. Keiser – Best For The Money Under 2000

Keiser M3i Indoor Cycle New Year Bundle (Black - Fully Assembled)
  • Bundle includes: Keiser M3i Indoor Cycle, Media Tray, Stretch Pads,...
  • Industry’s First V-Shape Frame: Enables M3i to mimic different...
  • Bluetooth-enabled Interactive Cycling: Riders can connect to the...
  • Durability and Beauty: Simple, elegant design makes the M3i extremely...
Alright, let’s kick off the list of the best exercise bikes for weight loss with a product from Keiser.

In my opinion, Keiser is not a favorable product unless you have a generous budget and would like to invest in a high-end exercise machine. With a price range up to $2000, Keiser is a no-no for the majority of customers.

However, Keiser’s features deserve to be known as one of the best. Its frame design and a rear-mounted flywheel make sure your body sweat will flow through the machine without causing any harm or corrosion.

And in case you are worried about an exercise machine being too loud when used indoors, rest assured that Keiser is completely silent. The magnet accompanied by a Poly-V belt means you can experience a noise-free and smooth ride.

In short, Keiser is one hell of a product if you want something long-lasting and highly effective. But if you cannot afford a Keiser, keep reading to find more affordable options!

2. 3G Cardio – Best Recumbent Bikes Under $1500

3G Cardio Elite RB Exercise Bike, Recumbent - Commercial Grade - Compact Footprint - Ultra Comfortable Seat - Magnetic Resistance - 350 LB User Capacity
  • 3G Cardio, an Arizona-based company with a combined 50 years of...
  • Our oversized, highly adjustable cushioned seat provides incredible...
  • With an overall small compact size (49" L x 27" W x 43" H) our bike...
  • Handheld Heart Rate Sensors and a wireless Heart Rate Strap (included)...
So, what do I have here for you? It’s a 3G Cardio recumbent exercise bike. It is a high-tech product that can really transform your workout experience.

What I love about 3G Cardio is its installation of technology. The machine comes with a sensor monitoring the user’s heart rate, as well as a wireless strap that controls your health without making you feel stuck and itchy.

Furthermore, 3G Cardio is extremely space-saving. It is 49-inch in length and 27-inch in width, which means you can still buy the machine if your home is a bit small. No problem, 3G Cardio can fit it all!

And for the record, 3G Cardio is the best for seniors if you ask me. The resistance level is light enough to be done by older people, and its ergonomic design means that even the most fragile person can have some fun pedaling the product!

Again, the problem with 3G Cardio is its price range. Not many people can afford to pay up to $1500 for an exercise bike. But believe me, 3G Cardio is worth every dime of it!

3. L NOW – Best Indoor Cycling Under $1500

Alright, now let’s move on to a product from L NOW. If you want to go extreme with your workout, you should consider L NOW.

Though I’m not a fan of excessive physical exertion, I must say L NOW has catered to all the details that will please a gym-addict. L NOW Indoor Cycling comes with 2 dumbbells attached under the seat, a toe-caged pair of pedals as well as a flywheel for those who wish to increase the intensity of the ride.

And do not forget some other delicate features that make L NOW a real babe. It has a water bottle holder within your reach, so you can keep yourself hydrated. Furthermore, the bike installs an emergency brake so worry not about the bike moving too fast!

However, there’s something I dislike about L NOW. It’s the color combination that the manufacturers have chosen. Yellow and gray going together? Geez, not my best bet!

But if you have no issues with this color stuff, feel free to give L NOW a try. This unit is beneficial if you want to intensify your workout sessions, and it is the best for weight loss, so what are you waiting for?

4. BodyCraft

  • Built and warranted for club Use, but also perfect for the in-home...
  • Handlebar features multiple position hand grips including racing...
  • RESISTANCE uses eddy current magnetic Technology designed to react to...
  • Saddle and handlebars are infinitely Adjustable fore/aft and...
BodyCraft is more like a gym product, but that does not mean it will not fit into your home. Let me introduce you to some key features of this product.

The handlebar of BodyCraft is truly a highlight. Instead of having only one fixed position, it includes multiple options for different purposes, such as slow biking or racing.

Furthermore, the magnetic flywheel of the machine guarantees a smooth and silent workout ride even if you are going at your fastest speed. Since BodyCraft is designed for gymnasts, you will not have to worry much about its performance.

Still, I once came across a loose belt drive when I was riding a BodyCraft. It may not be a universal mistake, but look out, just to be sure!

Do you want my final conclusion on this product? It is compact and useful, so I would highly recommend trying it out!

5. Life Fitness – Best Under $1200

Life Fitness Lifecycle GX Group Exercise Bike with Console
  • Robotically welded steel frame with rust prevention e-coating helps...
  • Dual-Magnetic Brake Resistance System allows user to gauge and repeat...
  • Multi-Ribbed Belt Drive with a magnetic eddy current for a smoother,...
  • Dual-sided SPD pedals for riders with soft sole shoes and for those...
Now I will lower the price range a bit to around $1200. And my recommendation today is Life Fitness!

What struck me the most when I first tried out Life Fitness Lifecycle is its LCD console. Do you want to know how fast you are riding, what your resistance level is, or even your heart rate? Life Fitness incorporates a screen that will display all the important figures.

Even better, Life Fitness provides users with a pair of dual-sided pedals. The toe-caged design guarantees a tight and fully wrapped coating while still leaving enough space for people wearing footwear.

Still, I think Lifecycle is not designed for harsh physical exertion. Its resistance level is quite low, and don’t expect to experience freewheeling on Life Fitness.

But in short, I would still recommend trying on a Life Fitness exercise machine. The price is reasonable and it makes biking a much more comfortable experience.

6. Concept2 BikeERG – Best Choice $1000

Concept2 BikeErg 2900 Stationary Exercise Bike | PM5 Monitor, Adjustable Air Resistance for Exercise, Conditioning and Strength Training | Commercial and Home Use

  • Easily adjustable seat height and handlebar positions provide a...
  • Aluminum 68 lb frame is engineered to be durable for your most...
Are you guys still with me? Good, now we’re talking about an exercise bicycle from Concept2.

I’m not really a big fan of Concept2 because it features an over-masculine design. The aluminum frame is surely wear-resistant, but it makes the whole machine a bit too bulky and rigid.

Appearance aside, Concept2 has some exciting features that draw my attention. It has a clutched flywheel imitating a real motion bike, so you can rest on the pedals while the wheel is still moving. Some intervals are needed, right?

Concept2 also comes with a screen that displays and keeps track of your progress while exercising on the bike. Anything from measurements to workout types and even games can be provided within the touch of your hand.

My verdict? I would say it might not be the best especially if you dislike the harsh vibe, but Concept2 can really do wonders for your health.

7. Echelon Smart Connect Bike – Best For Home

Woohoo, Just Not Sports have finally come to one of my favorite – an Echelon exercise bike. I think this product is the best for home, so let’s find out why.

My favorite feature of Echelon is its console holder, which can be connected to the Echelon Fit App. And dare I say, it is such a marvelous app! There are scenes to enliven your ride, or optional classes like yoga and stretching to support you. Unbelievable! It’s like the user is granted access to a multimedia gym on their own.

Also, do not forget that Echelon prides itself on 32 resistance levels! I mean, 32 levels virtually support anyone from robust gymnasts to fragile seniors who wish to sweat from home. Getting fit has never been easier!

However, I was under the impression that Echelon has a built-in tablet. Well, it turned out that you have to supply a tablet on your own. This makes the product more expensive, but I would say the joy you get from biking on Echelon is worth its price.

8. Diamondback – $850

Diamondback Fitness 510Ic Adjustable Indoor Cycle with Electronic Display and Quiet Magnetic Flywheel
  • Electronic Display provides computer controlled resistance in...
  • Fore/aft seat and handlebar adjustments and a 300 pound weight...
  • Quiet Heavy Duty 31 Pound Flywheel and steel-crafted components
  • 16 levels of resistance insuring a challenge, and 14 workout programs...
What if you are a bit overweight and you fear that an ordinary exercise bicycle cannot accommodate your body? Calm down because Diamondback is on the list, and it is the best for the heavy person!

Being an extremely sturdy machine, Diamondback is built to last. Its features make sure the cycle can function smoothly even under the pressure of up to 300 pounds. Hence, don’t hesitate to get this product if your weight is less than ideal.

But there’s more to Diamondback. I particularly enjoy the diversity of biking levels installed in the machine. It has 16 resistance levels, 14 workout programs and even 4 cardiovascular types of exercises for people with heart diseases. Wow!

However, bear in mind that this machine is not for the idle. It is heavy and difficult to move, so unless you are truly invested in working out, Diamondback will shock you by its lack of basic comfort.

My advice is that it suits the needs of obese people and professional gymnasts. Otherwise, Diamondback is not for you.

9. Sunny Health Fitness – $500

Sunny Health & Fitness Magnetic Belt Drive Indoor Cycling Bike with 44 lb Flywheel and Large Device Holder, Black, Model Number: SF-B1805
  • HEAVY-DUTY FLYWHEEL: Intensify cardio w/ 44 lb Flywheel. Strengthen...
  • FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE: 4-way adjustable seat & handlebars for proper form...
  • DEVICE HOLDER: Improve your fitness experience by securely placing...
  • SAFETY & CONVENIENCE: Transportation wheels for easy portability....
If you are interested in a heavy-duty exercise bicycle, but you would like to have a more affordable machine, I’ll bring up Sunny on this list.

Sunny is another brand of this machine designed to fit overweight people. Its steel frame promises to endure up to 300 pounds of weight, so you should expect to have a rough time familiarizing yourself with this high capacity machine.

But that does not mean an average person cannot make use of Sunny. With its adjustable straps, seat, and handlebar, Sunny provides a customizable exercise bike that will fit the physical needs of most people.

There’s something I don’t fancy about Sunny though. Despite being relatively quiet, sometimes the bike can send vibrations from the flywheel up to my thighs while I’m riding it. Urg!

But hey, if you want something wear-resistant and heavy-duty, then you cannot go wrong with Sunny.

10. Schwinn Best Airdyne – Best for Tall Person under $1000

Schwinn Fitness AD7 Airdyne Bike
  • Progressive wind resistance for infinite levels of challenge
  • Efficient single-stage belt drive that keeps it running quietly
  • Perimeter weighted fan for easy start up and a smooth ride
  • Comfortable, adjustable seat
You may not hear about air resistance technology before, but it is actually quite popular with exercise bikes. Let’s see what Schwinn has to offer with this brand new technology!

First off, you’ll notice that the bike comes with a large front wheel. It filters the wind flow and provides users with some interesting challenges depending on the air conditions.

What’s more, the screen in front of the machine will display your heart rate as well as the distance achieved on the Schwinn Airdyne, so you can have visual support on your achievements!

But be aware that the handles are in motion, which means you cannot lock them out. But worry not as you can still put your arms at your torso. The handles will not be invasive into your space.

For roughly under $1000, I believe Schwinn is the best for the money. Not only is it compact and portable, but it also features the necessary details of an exercise bicycle!

11. Schwinn Airdyne recumbent – Best For Heavy Person $500

Schwinn Fitness 270 Recumbent Bike
  • With enhanced Bluetooth connectivity, users can set, track and monitor...
  • Explore the world and discover 50plus global routes that auto-adjust...
  • Fully-loaded console with DualTrack blue backlit LCD screens offers 29...
  • 25 levels of resistance for a wide range of workout intensity options
Did I mention before that Schwinn comes with a variety of products? Now, I want to keep introducing you to another Schwinn’s recumbent.

Let’s see what it has in store for you!

For an indoor workout tool, I must say Schwinn has gone to all lengths to install the latest technology. Schwinn’s recumbent bike includes a Bluetooth connection, an LCD screen, a speaker with input ports for MP3 and USB.

Thus, feel free to enjoy music, or even experience a ride with your friends in real life with Schwinn. And even better? Schwinn features a wide range of fitness programs so you can find something that goes well with your workout plans!

But still, there’s something nagging me about Schwinn Airdyne Recumbent. You see, Schwinn has a tablet holder so I can have some entertainment while working out. But if I place my tablet on it, the LCD screen will be blocked!

If you are comfortable with not checking your progress regularly, then maybe the drawback I’ve mentioned is nothing much. Go for Schwinn if you want a comfortable and supporting recumbent bike!

12. Schwinn Best Airdyne upright – $400

Schwinn Fitness 170 Upright Bike
  • With enhanced Bluetooth connectivity, users can set, track and monitor...
  • Explore the world and discover 50plus global routes that auto-adjust...
  • Fully-loaded console with DualTrack blue backlit LCD screens display...
  • Telemetric heart rate enabled and ergonomically placed contact heart...

Schwinn also puts out a line of upright bikes, which I’m about to go into details below. Are you still with me? Excellent, keep reading and find out which the best stationary bike 2020 is.

Just as the recumbent bike, Schwinn’s upright bike includes many technological apps that can enliven your riding experience. Furthermore, there are 25 intensity levels in this machine so you can sweat and enjoy some entertainment at the same time!

While some users may experience discomfort with the narrow pedals, Schwinn makes sure its customers can have access to the best bike possible. By implementing a pair of oversized pedals, Schwinn has solved the problem of people with big feet!

By the way, while Schwinn upright bike is worth your investment, I must say I’m truly disappointed with its handles. The handles are not padded, so they feel harsh and rigid in my hands. Not a good feeling at all!

13. NordicTrack – under $500

NordicTrack GX 4.7 Exercise Bike

  • Lumbar supported seat. Exercise in comfort with the chair like design...
  • Exercise in comfort with the chair like design of the gx 4.7 recumbent...
  • One touch controls. Quick, responsive controls adjust your resistance...

Next up, I’m gonna move to another brand called NordicTrack. What’s so special about their exercise bike? Let’s see!

It is a recumbent bike, so I’ll pay my attention to the comfort it brings. NordicTrack has a huge cushion seat which charms me immediately! The attached lumbar is well ventilated, so the user can rest on the machine and work out without stressing too much.

NordicTrack also features a 5-inch LCD screen, which provides you with access to the necessary statistics. Your heart rate, your burnt calories or the length you have traveled are well documented on this machine.

However, I think this product is the best for tall people only. Somehow my 5’ cousin cannot sit and bike comfortable on this product, so maybe you will need to take this factor into account.

Overall, I would say that NordicTrack is a fun experience. With a price range under $500, you really don’t have much to complain.

14. Peloton

Peloton features a whole brand of exercise bikes, so I’ll link you directly to its online website.

There is a variety of choices for you when it comes to Peloton bikes. You can purchase the cheapest package including the sheer bike, or you can go for the family package which features other accessories such as a bike mat or 2 pairs of headphones.

With a price range up to $2200, it’s fair to say that this product is not for everyone. But in case you can afford a Peloton, I can assure you, it is the best spin bike on the market.

Peloton prides itself on the elegant design with a one belt drive, which guarantees a smooth and noise-free riding experience. The attached LCD screen provides users with a clear insight into the workout progress, so you can monitor your workout plans even better!

15. Nautilus – $450

Nautilus U616 Upright Bike
  • With enhanced Bluetooth connectivity, users can set, track and monitor...
  • Explore the world and discover 50+ global routes that auto-adjust in...
  • 29 workout programs: 12 profile, 9 heart rate control, 4 custom, 2...
  • 29 unique training programs allows you to choose from preset programs...

Alright, now I will move on to the next exercise bike called the Nautilus. So, what is so special about this product?

To me personally, it is all about the wide range of workout options available. Nautilus has 25 resistance levels which fit the needs of both beginner and professional bikers.

Furthermore, it incorporates up to 29 workout plans, including a fitness test to check how you are doing. This feature – coupled with the LCD screen – has helped me a lot in monitoring the effectiveness of my physical exertion.

Still, Nautilus has failed me when it comes to the comfort presented to the customers. When I first sat on the seat, it felt a bit uneasy. So I’m not gonna give Nautilus a five-star review.

But in case you do not mind a bit of discomfort, I would still say that Nautilus is a worthy choice. With a price range around $450, Nautilus deserves to be on the list of the high-quality exercise bikes 2020.

16. Exerpeutic – $400

Exerpeutic 4000 Magnetic Recumbent Bike with 12 Workout Programs

Alright, let’s lower the price range a little bit and here we have Exerpeutic.

Keep reading to find out more about this babe, shall we?

Despite being a recumbent bike, I feel like Exerpeutic is a bit upright for my taste. It can be a bit awkward for you if you haven’t tried a recumbent bike before, but rest assured that the discomfort will fade away.

Exerpeutic features an oversized cushion seat. So that the user can rest comfortably on the machine. This is reinforced by the well-padded elbow cushions, which means you will not suffer from stiff muscles from biking for hours.

And have I mentioned that Exerpeutic is a highly portable machine? With its transportation wheels, Exerpeutic makes it super easy to be moved around when needed. Yay!

If you want an affordable exercise bike that provides the comfort you deserve, go for Exerpeutic!

17. Exerpeutic – Best For Sale $250

  • Patented XBike Desk and Exercise Semi-Recumbent Bicycle. 2.5" Thick...
  • Weight capacity: 300 lbs. Semi-recumbent design for comfortable,...
  • Folds up for storage. The bike can still fold up when fully assembled,...

If you are a busy person who sometimes has to multitask, I would suggest having a look at this product from Exerpeutic.

Exerpeutic’s exercise bike comes off as extremely versatile for me, since it includes a foldable desk. It means you can place your laptop, your tablet or even put other small stuff on the desktop while sweating on the bike.

What is more, Exerpeutic relies on a semi-recumbent design to avoid any discomfort arising. Exerpeutic also installs 8 levels of intensity, so feel free to adjust it according to your physical needs.

But hang on, because Exerpeutic has a minor drawback. Its gearings require frequent lubrication, so some of you may find it a bit annoying.

However, I firmly believe that Exerpeutic is a reasonable choice, especially for female users. It is lightweight, space-saving and affordable – which is truly the best for sale.

18. Exerpeutic – $150

  • 【300 POUND WEIGHT CAPACITY】- Solid steel frame has been providing...
  • 【COMPACT & QUIET】- Perfect for smaller spaces, this exercise bike...
  • 【EASY READ LCD COMPUTER】- A Large 3.5" x 1.5" LCD screen makes it...

Another counterpart from Exerpeutic I would like to introduce to you is this foldable heavy-duty exercise bike.

What I like the most about this item is its flexible design. Once you are done with your workout, feel free to fold the machine into half and move it to the storage space.

Despite the delicate look, Exerpeutic heavy-duty bike can support up to 300 pounds. If you are a bit overweight, you may want to try using this bike for sturdy support.

There is one tiny problem that I experienced when riding this bike a long time ago. The seat is designed to be comfortable so it is oversized, but I found myself sitting rather clumsily on the cushion. Ouch!

But overall, I would still stay that Exerpeutic is a worthwhile item to purchase. It is within the budget of most people, and it can help you lose weight effectively!

19. Stamina Airgometer – $350

  • OPTIONAL UPPER BODY WORKOUT: The padded, ergonomic handlebars work the...
  • MULTI-FUNCTION MONITOR: Track exercise time, speed, distance and...
  • COMFORT ELEMENTS: Includes a built-in bottle holder & water bottle,...

Next up on my list of this article is an upright bike from Stamina. I hope you guys still stay here with me and figure out the best choice for you!

What I really enjoy about this Stamina exercise bike is its transportability. Unlike other bulky bikes, Stamina includes tiny wheels at one end of the machine, so that the user can move it around easily.

What’s more, Stamina features a pair of oversized pedals that promises to hold up anyone. The surface is sturdy, so you can rest your feet comfortable without fearing they might slip away during a rigorous ride.

Still, the bike is pretty noisy with its squeaks. Maybe there’s something wrong with the design of the flywheel, but I’m not entirely sure.

In short, Stamina is a compact and affordable bike for your house use. I would recommend this product if you have limited living space and budget!

20. Proform – $200

ProForm X-Bike Duo Exercise Bike
  • Upright + recumbent frame, Inertia-Enhanced flywheel, 14 resistance...
  • Adjustable console angle, pedals with straps, integrated tablet...
  • iFit ready, large LCD display, 14 workout apps, SpaceSaver design
  • 250 lb. Weight capacity

Well, Just Not Sports are almost at the end of my list today. Hang on with me you guys, because next up is a product from Proform!

The charm of this bike – to me personally – lies in its dual design. It features a frame that can be adjusted as an upright or a recumbent bike, depending on the demand of the customer. Yay! It’s like buying one bike, but you get both of them.

And do you know what is even better? Proform installs a faster gear ratio on the flywheel so that the rider will feel more at ease when performing even the most rigorous ride. The smoothness of this biking experience is just fabulous!

But there’s something bothering me about this product. While it may work best for short people, Proform is probably not designed for taller ones. Some of my friends who are taller than 5’6’’ complained about not being able to ride effortlessly on this machine.

In summary, if you are relatively short and would like to have some gentle workout under your rooftop, I would still recommend a Proform. It is cheap, portable and it can help your body sweat!

21. Deskcycle – Best For Mini – $160

DeskCycle 2 Under Desk Bike Pedal Exerciser with Adjustable Leg - Mini Exercise Bike Desk Cycle, Leg Exerciser for Physical Therapy & Desk Exercise (White)

  • LOW PROFILE: DeskCycle 2 mini exercise bike is adjustable. Drop it...
  • BUILD STRENGTH: With more than twice the resistance range of other...
  • KEEP IT SIMPLE: Our desk bike is user friendly. The large 5-function...

Okay, now I want to have a quick break from all these gigantic machines and focus on a little babe – a Deskcycle bike. What is the bike different from its other rivals? Stay with me to find out!

Obviously, I love Deskcycle thanks to its compact design. It focuses on your lower body’s movements only, so the machine is small enough to accommodate your feet. The bike is also highly portable so you can move it around and stack it under a table. Yay!

While the machine itself is small in size, do not underestimate its power. I particularly enjoy the 8 resistance levels that Deskcycle brings about – very impressive for a mini bike. Also, do not forget its secure and smooth pedals!

But to be honest, while Deskcycle seems to be a substantial choice for those of you who cannot afford a stationary bike, I don’t think it can actually help you lose weight. At best, the machine may make your lower body sweat quite a bit, and that’s all.

22. Weslo – $150

Weslo Pursuit G 3.1 Exercise Bike
  • Inertia-enhanced flywheel, smr silent magnetic resistance
  • LCD window display, integrated tablet holder
  • Horizontal and Vertical Adjustable Seat, Transport Wheels, StepThru...
  • Weight capacity: 250 lbs

Alright, the next product I’m gonna talk about is Weslo recumbent exercise bike. What are some of its interesting features? Let’s find out.

What makes me fall in love with this product is how easy it is to adjust the seat and the back cushion to fit my posture. They are both well-padded and comfortable, which is another plus point.

Furthermore, Weslo comes with other delicate details that many people will find them useful. It has a bottle holder for frequent hydration, a tablet holder for entertainment and a small screen to display the figures related to your workout session.

But still, I have a feeling that this product may look a bit cheap. I mean, the design can look a bit outdated and the materials are not very shiny.

Well, for a product at the price range of $150, I suppose I cannot ask for more. It is a good bicycle for your health, but not something decorative for your home.

23. Best Cheap Marcy Recumbent – $150

Marcy Recumbent Exercise Bike with Resistance ME-709
  • STEP-THROUGH DESIGN – Featuring heavy-duty construction 14-gauge...
  • EIGHT RESISTANCE LEVELS – This stationary bike uses a magnetic...
  • EASY-TO-READ COMPUTER SCREEN – The ultra-functional LCD computer...
  • COMFORTABLE PADDED SEAT – The equipment has an ergonomically...

Here comes another affordable exercise bike for those of you who wish to get fit without having to spend millions! Let’s see what Marcy recumbent bike has to offer, everyone.

Personally speaking, I think the pedals of Marcy are killing it. They are well weighted, so you don’t have to worry about your foot space even if your feet are a bit bigger than the average. The toe-caged feature makes sure your feet are tightly secure, so feel free to bike as much as you want to!

The steel frame accompanied by its coating is another worthy point of Marcy. This material is built to last, which means your stationary bicycle can stay here with you for a pretty long time.

However, Marcy is not for short people. If your height is around 5’1’’, I don’t think you should go for this machine because pedaling will be much more difficult.

But in case you think you can beat it, feel free to have a try at Marcy! With its price range, I would say there’s hardly any product that can compare to its quality. Truly a bargain!

24. Best For Seniors with arms – Magnetrainer – $150

MagneTrainer-ER Mini Exercise Bike Arm and Leg Exerciser
  • CONVENIENT: Stuck at home? Get your physical therapy leg exercise or...
  • VERSATILE: Molded pedals provide a comfortable grip for use as arm...
  • SMOOTH & SILENT: Premium magnetic resistance gives this leg and arm...
  • PRECISE CONTROL: Our step-less intensity dial allows you to fine tune...

Wow, so finally here we are. I am introducing the last item on my list of the best exercise bicycles, so I’ll put a product called Magnetrainer here.

At first look, it is pretty much similar to a Deskcycle. The machine is compact and lightweight so you can fit it everywhere. But its advantage includes a workout session for your arms as well!

With the pedals designed to accommodate both your hands and your feet, Magnetrainer can help you sweat while doing other tasks. It functions based on the magnetic resistance system, and the straps included will make sure you can secure your body to the machine.

My problem with this machine is that it does not provide a rigorous workout for young people. It may be the best for seniors though because they can gently exercise without causing too much strain on their body.

What Are Some Common Bicycle Accessories?

Having an exercise bike is great, but decorating it with some accessories will upgrade your experience. Let’s see what kind of bike accessories you can get for the high-quality exercise bikes this summer!

Tablet holder for the exercise bike

If you want to multitask while working out on your exercise bike, considering installing a tablet holder. It is a holder that can accommodate your device so you can enjoy a funny video while sweating.

Exercise bike mat

Putting a whole exercise bike right on the floor may cause scratches, so I would advise you to buy an exercise bike mat. It is a piece of cloth that reduces the friction of the bike, so you can easily move the bike from one place to another without worrying about its effects on the floor surface.

Stationary bike rack

Turning a motion bike to a stationary bike cannot be easier with the help of a stationary bike rack. You can purchase this holder, which puts your bike into a static state so you can work out right from home.

It is true that all stationary bike comes with a seat, but it will not hurt you to invest in a high-quality, separate cushion. There are products that are made from soft gel, which guarantee to give you the best workout comfort.

Please do not be mistaken that you won’t need stationary bike shoes. There are footwear designed to suit the rigor of biking statically, so make sure you have the proper gears to ace the biking workout session.

Heart rate monitor

Some people make sure their workout is going well by checking their heart rate. Why don’t you do the same by installing a heart rate monitor? It is a hand-held device that can measure your heart rate, so at least you’ll have concrete evidence that you have exerted yourself physically!

What is the best exercise bike for weight loss?

Exercise bikes are a type of bike used specifically to get fit. Usually, they are stationary bicycles. Exercise bikes are mostly used at the gym or at home, or any other indoor facilities.

Types of exercise bikes

  • Upright bikes. An upright bike is the type of bike featuring a vertical design, similar to a classic bike.
  • Recumbent bikes. A recumbent bike allows the rider to lean back in its recline design, so they can enjoy a less intense workout session.

How to choose Best Stationary Bike For Weight Loss?

  • Know your purpose. Do you want to lose weight and get in shape, or simply focus on exercising your muscles after sitting in front of the laptop all day? Understanding why you need an exercise bike will help you choose the most suitable item,
  • Check your budget. Can you afford a high-end exercise bike? Do you want a reasonably priced product? Or are you satisfied with a low-end bike? See how much you can afford for your bike, then go for it!
  • Read some reviews. It is best to learn from the experience of other people. If you know someone using a bike similar to what you intend on buying, ask for their opinions. If you don’t know anyone, go read a detailed review on the Internet! (like mine)

Where can I buy It?

You can buy an exercise bike from a fitness store, or you can get access to online shopping platforms like Amazon or eBay.

Benefits of It

  • Weight loss. If you want to look slimmer, riding a stationary bike for at least 30 minutes per day will help you tone down your body.
  • Muscle strengthening. Since biking requires your body to exert physically, it may help your whole body to improve on the strength of the muscles.
  • Convenience. Not many of you can afford the time and money to hit the gym frequently. Also, what if it rains out of the blue? Having a stationary bike at home provides you with a more convenient alternative to working out.
  • Heart benefits. Biking on a stationary bike can help to monitor and regulate blood pressure. It is also a way to improve the function of the respiratory system, which makes it easier for the user to fight against heart-related diseases.

How to use?

Most of the purchased exercise bikes will come with a manual or an instruction on how to use it. However, the steps are relatively simple to follow. After unboxing the pack, make sure you can set up the machine. There are places that will provide mechanics to cater to this issue for you.

Once the machine is on set, you may or may not have to connect it to the energy source. Tada, now all you have to do is to hop on the bike and ride it!

How long should I ride an exercise bike?

If you want to get in shape and improve your overall health, it is advised that you spend at least 30 minutes on biking per day, 5 days per week.

This number may vary in different cases based on your health goals and your current fitness level.

How to adjust a spin bike?

  • Adjust the saddle height. You need to make sure you have enough comfort while reaching for the pedals, but do not lower your saddle to the point it causes a strain on your knees.
  • Adjust the handlebars. The handlebars are where you are going to hold on to, so you may want them to align with your elbows.
  • Fit your feet onto the pedals. The pedals can be toe-caged or not. Either way, you should secure your feet so that they don’t get slip while biking midway.

How to lose weight when using it?

Losing weight on an exercise bike is relatively straightforward. You need to bike at least 30 minutes per day, and try to increase the intensity level if possible.

Coupled with proper hydration and a healthy diet, regular biking will aid your weight loss in no time!

Calories burned stationary bike

Depending on the weight of the rider as well as the intensity level, the calories burned while biking a stationary bike can vary.

An hour of biking can help a 130 lb person lose from 177 calories (if the resistance level is low) to 738 calories (if the resistance level is vigorous).

Stationary bike Workout Plan

There are many ways in which you can incorporate a workout into your normal biking experience.

  • Use dumbbells. A couple of dumbbells will force your upper body to sweat while your lower body focuses on the bike.
  • Use resistance bands. While biking helps you tone your legs, a resistance band wrapped around your arms and shoulders may enhance your flexibility.

Exercise bike weight loss before and after results

If you bike 30 minutes per day, you can lose roughly around 500 calories. When the calories burned to reach around 3500, it means one pound getting lost. Yay!

Exercise Bike before and after results
Before and after results

As I have stated above, biking on a bike exercise can bring about some fabulous results for your health. Let’s get a quick review!

  • Losing weight. Biking on a bike exercise means you can dial down your weight, so it’s an excellent choice for overweight people.
  • Better utilization of oxygen. Biking means you have to monitor your breath flow. This is a good way for you to practice good breathing habits.
  • Reducing heart diseases. Biking is a good way to practice cardio, which means your heart and your respiratory system, in general, will be improved significantly.

Knee pain?

Due to the design of the stationary bike, or sometimes due to your own posture, there are chances that you may develop knee pain.

To prevent this from happening, you should adjust the length of your saddle. Do not let it be too low, or else it will cause pressure on your joints.

Furthermore, make sure your body is well warmed up before each riding session. While you are already engaged in riding, start slow and then aim for a higher resistance level. Be consistent, or else your body will suffer!

Some fitness brands create a unique fitness app for their own stationary bikes, which will be introduced to you once you make a purchase.

But still, feel free to pick some stationary bike apps from Google Play or iStore next time you want to have some visual instructions on your bike. Most of them are free, though there are advanced apps that will charge you money.

How fast is 90 rpm on a stationary bike?

Typically, a stationary bike will have a cadence ranging from 50 to 110 rpm. As you can see, beginners may bike at around 50 rpm, while more professional riders will bike at a faster speed. So I would say 90 rpm is relatively high and only advanced bikers can achieve it.

How to repair?

  • Troubleshoot the problem. To repair your bike, first, you need to figure out what is wrong with it. Try looking at different spots of your bike and check out the source of the problem.
  • Sketch out the options. Once you know what is wrong with it, think of some possible plans to deal with the issue. Sometimes you can solve the problem on your own, but there are times when you need to hire a mechanic to do the work.
  • Keep up the maintenance. One way to make sure your bike needs the least amount of fixing is to keep it in good condition. Each bike requires a different approach, but overall, you should clean up your machine after each workout session.
